Mike spent an academic year in Malaysia through the IRSEP Scholarship Exchange Program studying alongside local students. A highlight from his experience included performing a traditional Malaysian dance in front of over 3,000 people.

Carlson Honors Students Study Abroad
Returning CSOM Honors students present to classmates, advisers, and prospective study abroad students on a variety of programs and locations.

Andrew traveled to Barcelona, Spain with the IES program. He spent the semester fulfilling both major and outside credits, traveling, and getting to know his host culture. He told the audience to "remember that it’s not good, it’s not bad, it’s just the way they do it. It’s different. When I finally accepted that, it was a lot easier to cope with being abroad."

Diana went on a different IES program to Dijon, France (now discontinued). She interned with a local business association, attended a model European Union conference, and lived with a host family. She said, "The program is really flexible because of the many different course choices and opportunities. You can really tailor your own experience within the program."

Amy spent a semester in Milan, Italy with the Carlson exchange to Bocconi University. "Milan is the fashion capital of the world, and the business capital of Italy, but it’s also a city of great history, culture and art," said Amy. Through business coursework with Italian classmates, Amy learned how to be more flexible and adapt to change.

Bethany, a human resources major, spent her semester in London with the IFSA-Butler program, studying at the University of Westminster. Some of her tips for travelers include budgeting and packing carefully, making time to see tourist sites, and branching out by meeting people from different parts of the world.

Michelle, Anna, Kelly, Meredith, and Alyson all spent a semester in London with the CAPA program. The internships held by these women included event planning for a children's foundation, accounting for multinational hotel chains, and small non-profit agencies, and marketing for the sports and leisure division of the British government.
