Get your passport! Passport applications may take as long as 12 weeks to be processed (more info).

Confirmation Checklist

Follow this checklist to confirm your place in the program.

Note: If you plan to use financial aid (loans, grants, scholarships) to cover costs for your study abroad experience, you are encouraged to schedule a financial aid preview meeting prior to submitting your confirmation deposit.

Review the Learning Abroad Center Cancellation Policy before turning in your confirmation materials

Passport & Visa: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program

  • If you already have a passport, make sure that it is valid for the duration of the program, as well as up to six months after your return
  • If you do not have a passport, apply for one as soon as possible; go to Travel Documents for more information
  • You receive more detailed visa information later in the process

Mailings from ISEP and Overseas


You are responsible for reading the following ISEP handbooks: Participant Handbook and country specific handbook.

Please keep in mind that this is not an official letter of acceptance. We expect to receive notice of your placement from ISEP approximately two months prior to the start of your program and will then send you placement confirmation materials. 

You may also receive additional information directly from the overseas institution. Please read all this information and return any forms needed by the host institution.
