Coursework
Choose courses from a broad-based curriculum offered through any of these universities in Puerto Rico. This affordable program provides a high degree of independence and immersion into Puerto Rican academic and cultural life.
Choose from courses in a wide variety of fields. Participants receive transfer credit based on an official transcript from the host school.
Eligibility & Application
Open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors with 2.5 GPA. . At least 2 prior years college-level Spanish or equivalent are required. Some NSE schools and academic programs may have additional requirements.
Application deadline is early February for fall, spring, academic year, and summer programs alike. After that applications may be considered on a rolling basis.
Academic Fit with a University of Minnesota Degree PlanWith good academic planning this program can fit well into the degree plans for many majors. Search for courses that fulfill Liberal Education Requirements or submit a course you want to take for review. Study Abroad in Your Major advising sheets explain why study abroad is important for a major, indicate what the department wants students to consider when selecting a program, and provide academic planning hints. This program may appear as a special recommendation on an advising sheet. If your major is not listed, talk to an adviser—this program may still fit your academic, career, and professional goals.
